Leila Jamal, Sc.M., Ph.D. is a certified genetic counselor and bioethicist with prior clinical experience in pediatric neurology, oncology, and immunology. She holds joint appointments to the National Cancer Institute and the NIH Clinical Center Department of Bioethics. She is Associate Director for Cancer Genomics for the Johns Hopkins/NIH Genetic Counseling Training Program and a current member of the Board of Directors for the National Society of Genetic Counselors. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the AllofUs Genetic Counseling Resource. Dr. Jamal's research focuses on uses of influence and persuasion in genetic counseling, implementation science in genomic medicine, oncology care for gender diverse patients, and uses of genetics to restrict access to insurance, abortion, and gender-affirming care.
