2023 CGA-IGC Annual Meeting Abstract Topics

Abstracts can be submitted in 4 major categories. While submitting your abstract, please check if your abstract is related to the below descriptions.

1. General Research

Research abstracts focused on clinical, psychosocial, translational, and/or basic science aspects of hereditary gastrointestinal cancers.

General Research sub-categories:

Lynch syndrome
Moderate penetrance genes
Adenomatous polyposis syndromes including FAP
Hamartomatous and other polyposis syndromes
Early Onset Colorectal Cancer
Gastric cancer-related syndromes
Pancreatic cancer-related syndromes
Delivery of Care and Alternative Models
Counseling, Behavioral Health, Psychosocial, and Survivorship

 

2. Case reports / Case series

Research abstracts focused on an interesting patient case or small series of cases that has significant relevance to the hereditary gastrointestinal cancer field.  1-2 of these abstracts will be selected for podium presentations specifically set aside for abstracts from this category.  Abstracts not selected for one of these designated podium spots will be given full consideration for podium and poster presentations with the rest of the abstract pool.

 

3. Collaborative

Research abstracts with a primary focus of recruiting other investigators to join a collaborative research effort to address an important question in hereditary gastrointestinal cancer.  These abstracts may include studies with associated preliminary data or may be planned studies that have yet to generate any preliminary data but are looking for collaborating sites.  1-2 of these abstracts will be selected for podium presentations specifically set aside for abstracts from this category.  Abstracts not selected for one of these designated podium spots will be given full consideration for podium and poster presentations with the rest of the abstract pool.

 

4. Diversity/Equity/Inclusion/Justice

Research abstracts for this category should have a primary focus on advancing the understanding of and/or improving diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or justice within the field of hereditary gastrointestinal cancer.  1-2 of these abstracts will be selected for podium presentations specifically set aside for abstracts from this category.  Abstracts not selected for one of these designated podium spots will be given full consideration for podium and poster presentations with the rest of the abstract pool.
